Preparing for his big moment: Matt Cardle gets an all-over spray tan ahead of this weekend's X Factor final

With the grand final approaching and the possibility of a duet with a world-famous pop star, an X Factor finalist has got to look their very best.

So it was no surprise to see Matt Cardle getting himself prepared for his big moment this weekend as he visited a beauty salon for a spray tan.

The Essex boy, 27, was filmed getting bronzed all over after moaning that he 'looked pale' under the studio lights.

And he looked as though he was thoroughly enjoying the pampering session as he smiled for the camera.

Matt, 27, is one of the final four acts left in the show along with Rebecca Ferguson, 24, Cher Lloyd, 17, and boy band One Direction, whose ages range between 16 and 18.

And today, it was revealed which famous faces will be joining the four acts on stage as they prepare to sing for their lives - and the X Factor crown.

According to the Daily Star, Christina Aguilera, Robbie Williams, will.i.am and Rihanna have agreed to be paired up with the remaining hopefuls in a bid to help them win the show.

It has not been confirmed who will be singing with who, although reports are suggesting that that Williams, 36, will be paired with Matt.

Williams also performed on last year's final singing his hit song Angels with finalist Olly Murs, who came second behind Joe McElderry.

But according to the newspaper, Matt's mentor Dannii Minogue is believed to be desperate for him to perform his last song with Christina Aguilera.
She will be appearing on the show to promote a new song from her film Burlesque.

And X Factor source said: 'A duet between Christina and Matt would be a magical moment – just like when Beyonce dueted with Alexandra Burke during 2008’s final.

'Matt’s voice is phenomenal and Christina can hit notes no one has dreamed of.
'They would be a perfect pairing no matter what song they sang.'

The finalists have spent the week travelling to their home towns to meet friends, family and fans and perform for them before they sing for their future this weekend.

Matt, along with mentor Dannii Minogue, went back to Essex and performed in the pub he used to sing in on Saturday nights, while Cheryl took Cher back to Malvern, Worcestershire where she was swamped by admirers and visited her old primary school.

Boy band One Direction travelled to Bradford and Doncaster before performing a free gig in Wolverhampton, during which 35 fans were treated for minor injuries.

And Rebecca went back to her native Liverpool with Cheryl where she received a warm welcome as she performed at the Echo Arena.
