Honda Brio is all set for official launch in India priced at Rs5 lakhs. Honda Brio will be dealt with by the dealers handling the company’s two wheelers across the country. Though Honda Brio is targeted for Thailand and Indian markets, the operational features will suit the local demands, said the company’s CEO and President. This facility will be erected to deliver 60000 annual units.

Honda on Tuesday unveiled a prototype of its new small car, the Honda Brio, at the 27th Thailand International Motor Expo 2010. The introduction of the car is a significant step for Honda in rapidly growing Asian markets. Honda had showcased a concept version at the Auto Expo in January.
The "Honda Brio" is an attempt by Honda to enter a segment dominated by Maruti Suzuki Swift.
The car will be exported to other countries from India.
Japanese auto major Honda Motor unveiled the prototype of its first small car – Honda Brio at the 27 th Bangkok Motor Show on Tuesday. Honda Brio will compete with other domestic small cars such as Maruti Suzuki Swift, Volkswagen Polo and Nissan Micra.
“Increased local sourcing of components will be the key for success of Honda Brio in the domestic market,” Takashi Nagai, president and CEO, Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), which is Honda's subsidiary in India, said. “At present, 10 per cent of total sales of Honda cars come from tier 2 and tier 3 markets. “At present, we were utilising around 65-70 per cent of the capacity and the rest would be utilised for manufacturing "Honda Brio",” Jnaneswar Sen, VP – sales and marketing, HSCI, said. The company at present manufactures models like Honda Jazz, Honda City, Honda Civic and Honda Accord and imports premium SUV Honda CRV from Japan.
