Matt Cardle debuts his new music video... but even X Factor can't edit his past as the girl he dumped for stardom makes a cameo

Debut: Matt Cardle's music video for winner's single When We Collide was released today

X Factor 2010 winner Matt Cardle's ex-girlfriend accused him of dumping her as soon as he had his first taste of success.

But Lauren Cutmore will undoubtedly be smirking when she sees her ex's new music video for winner's single When We Collide, which made its debut today.

Proving that even X Factor bosses can't edit out the 27-year-old Essex man's past, the pretty 24-year-old makes a cameo appearance in the clip.

Can't re-write history: Cardle is seen celebrating with his ex-girlfriend Lauren Cutmore in the footage of his X Factor journey

Primarily made up of footage of Cardle's X Factor journey, his ex-girlfriend can be seen celebrating with him after he was put through to the boot camp stage of auditions.

Miss Cutmore told the Daily Mail that the former painter and decorator cut off contact with her after getting through to the judge's houses round.

Lauren's father Mick Cutmore told the Sunday Mirror in October that X Factor bosses may have influence Matt's decision to dump his daughter.

Cutthroat: His ex claims that Cardle dumped her saying he would stand a better chance if he was single

Christmas number one? The 27-year-old's Biffy Clyro cover is on track for the top spot, already selling over 100,000 copies

'They said he would stand a better chance if he wasn't with someone,' he claimed.
But while the X Factor may have been keen to promote Cardle as available throughout the series, even they cannot re-write history.

With the moment he found out he had made it through the first stage a poignant moment for Matt, it was impossible for producers to edit Miss Cutmore out of the footage.

Supportive: Miss Cutmore could be seen lining up with the X Factor hopeful at the London auditions in early episodes of the series

Her cameo is very short though, lasting only a couple of seconds.

The rest of the music video is made up of Cardle in a spotlit studio, playing a guitar.

During an interview with the Daily Mail this week, the singer played down his ex's claims, but conceded that they were based in fact.
