The five-year-old took up her favourite perch, atop her father's shoulders, as he took her for a fun-filled afternoon in New York's West Village yesterday.

Once at the park, Ava enjoyed being pushed on the swings, before negotiating the climbing frame and whizzing down a spiral slide.
Australian-born actor Jackman, 42, and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness adopted Ava along with 10-year-old Oscar after she had two miscarriages.

School's out: Ava looked delighted when her actor father came to pick her upBesides his parenting duties, Jackman has also been busy on the film front lately, with several big screen outings due for release in 2011.
He will be seen alongside Alicia Silverstone in the comedy Butter, as well as appearing in the futuristic drama Real Steel.
And a sequel to Wolverine - X-Men: Origins - Wolverine 2 is due to go into production, with Darren Aronofsky tipped to direct.
